We are happy to let you know that you can now update to SimaPro 9.6.
The focus of this SimaPro release has been on providing updated data and impact assessment methods. The highlights are mentioned below, but for a description of all changes please check the 'What's New in SimaPro 9.6' manual or join us for the release webinar on May 16th!
Updating to SimaPro 9.6
If you are currently using SimaPro 9.5, please follow these update instructions. As usual, you start off by updating the software, then importing the update database and appending substances.
If you’re updating from an older version of SimaPro, you can catch up on the updates you missed in one go by following the full update instructions instead.
Tip! Check out the update videos on the SimaPro Help Center - if you have a single user installation, check this video. If you are using a multiuser version, check this video instead.
Changes to data libraries and impact assessment methods:
Our database team has implemented the following updates regarding data libraries and impact assessment methods:
- ecoinvent 3.10, allocation, cut-off by classification
- Characterization factors have been added to all (applicable) methods for:
- New and formerly missing occupation and transformation flows
- New and formerly missing energy resources
- New regionalized water flows
- Formerly missing waterborne emissions of water to the ocean sub-compartment
- Formerly missing nitrogen and phosphorus substances
Additional updates/corrections have been implemented for all IPCC 2021 methods, all LC-IMPACT methods, Land use biodiversity (Chaudhary et al., 2015), all ReCiPe 2016 methods and BEES+.
As with SimaPro 9.5, only the ecoinvent 3 – allocation, cut-off by classification (unit and system) libraries are included in the default SimaPro databases. This is to deter users from using different models within a project, and to improve data management and updates in general. Nevertheless, the other system models are available as additional downloads.
