Building products and construction materials are investigated for environmental product declarations
Building products and construction processes are an important part of the economy. There is a growing demand for environmental product declarations (EPD) in this sector. ESU-services executed several LCA projects in this important sector. Some examples are provided on this site.
LCA of composite materials
ComPair aims to improve ESG measures and external impact of the company. CompPair worked with ESU-services to conduct a cradle-to-gate preliminary study of HealTech™ material. Besides, CompPair is using the SimaPro software as a tool for material selection, identification of hotspots and environmental performance evaluation.
Inventory of rock wool production
Flumroc is a rock wool producing company in Switzerland. The company has updated their company-internal eco-balance tool to the latest available life cycle impact assessment methodologies in collaboration with ESU-services. At the same time, the inventory data of the rockwool production and of some upstream processes have been revised. The respective report was published by eco-bau.
